So, what is Corporate Social Responsibility?

Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is the ethical behaviour of a company towards the society. It is coined as ‘giving back’ to the society by participations and contributions in several areas such as education, cultural, environmental, health programmes and sports.

CSR activities are opportunities for organisations to demonstrate good corporate citizenship and able to protect the organisation from risk. Undertaking CSR initiative is truly a win-win situation as it will benefit the society as well as maximize organisation’s profit by doing socially and environmentally friendly.

In Malaysia, there are many organisations started doing CSR campaigns, one of the best examples would be CIMB Group – CIMB FOUNDATION.

In my opinion, CIMB Group is prominent because they have meaningful CSR campaigns and successfully make some changes in the society. The Group is also willing to spend part of its profit to implement CSR activities. How many companies will do so?
